Digital Cameras Photo Reviews of Lowepro SlingShot 100 All-Weather Digital Camera Backpack (Black)

Customer Review: Comfortable, functional bag for a DSLR
Summary: 4 Stars

I shopped around a lot before settling on the LowePro Slingshot 200. I've owned a number of LowePro bags and all have been very durable and functional, so that was the brand I focused on. The slingshot is a good compromise between a backpack-style bag and a shoulder bag. I find it very easy to carry and very easy to bring around to the front of my body to get to my gear.

I carry a Nikon D80 with three lenses (Nikkor 16-85, 70-300 and 105 macro) and an SB800 flash. There is also plenty of room for accessories like filters, lens hoods, extra battery and SD cards, cleaning kit, etc. The bag is not very deep, so if you have longer lenses (like the 70-300), you'll have to lay them down horizontally to fit in the bag.

I really like the built-in rain cover -- I haven't had to use it yet, but it's nice to know that if you get stuck in an unexpected rain, you can protect your gear.

Customer Review: Great bag for someone in a wheelchair...
Summary: 5 Stars

I originally bought the Slingshot 100 which proved to be so-so sizewise for the equipment I had, but I was about to get a Canon 50D and knew the 100 wouldn't cut it. I gave it away as a gift and bought the Slingshot 200. It is the perfect bag for me. Carries my camera so people don't know what I'm carrying and will also hold several lenses and a 430EX flash, plus a lot of odds and ends in side pockets.

I'm wheelchair bound and the Slingshot 200 fits perfectly on my lap. It just slips easily around when I have to stand. In my lap, it also acts as a brace when taking photos.

The additional pockets should be rearranged so the top pocket opens up in the unslung position (on my lap), and the other pocket should be moved forward so it is more accessable when in the unslung position. Otherwise, you have to be careful not to open them too much for fear of items dropping out.

Still, it is a full five star bag, particularly for us who are wheelchair bound. I feel much more secure carrying my photo equipment in some of the places I go.

Customer Review: Portable accessory table!
Summary: 5 Stars

Unlike regular tote bags or backpacks, the sling bag swing forward and rest snugly on my chest acting as kind of a tray table for changing lenses. Not needing to hold the group up as I grab accessories or change lenses is the real value for this bag.

Customer Review: Great camera bag!
Summary: 5 Stars

Thrilled with this bag. Have had it for 4 or 5 months and it is all that we could want or need. Perfect size. Fits Rebel XTI, 70-300 ISM zoom lense (ON!), slim pocket digital camera, and a Canon digital movie camera...all together!

Customer Review: Slingshot 100 is awesome!
Summary: 5 Stars

This is such an awesome bag! I only got it a couple of days ago but I'm amazed by how much this little bag can hold! The Slingshot 100 is the perfect size for me. Right now I only have a Sony A300 and the kit lens, but i know that once I get more, it will hold it. With accessories and all, this bag can easily hold 3 normal size lenses, (one attached to the camera, one laying on its side, and one standing up in the slot) or 2 lenses and a flash. If you dont use the upper zipper compartment for normal accessories, (the one closest to the top, by the handle) you could also put another "normal" size lens up there. (totaling it to 4 lenses)-(I'm measuring "normal" as my 18-70mm lens that came with my camera)

I love how durable this bag feels. Even when you dont have much stuff in there, it holds it shape well. The materials feel extremely durable! There is lots of padding, and the zippers feel top notch. The "sling" design works well.

All in all, I would definitely recommend this to anyone!
